Central Texas housing market breaks sales record in 2016, shows signs of normalization in 2017
2016 recorded another record-breaking year for Central Texas home sales, while also showing signs that the housing market could begin to normalize in 2017.
In the Austin-Round Rock MSA, single-family home sales increased 4% from 2015 to 29,569 home sales—the third year in a row that the Austin-area housing market has experienced record-breaking home sales.
Median price for Austin-Round Rock MSA single-family homes in 2016 was $284,000, up 7% from 2015—a more moderate pace than the double-digit increases the market has seen in previous years
